Good Evening Pokerworld !

It’s time for the next episode of my marvellous list: The Most Famous Poker Players top 100 ! As we move forward to the last fifty players you’ll hopefully recognize them some what quicker than the first pro’s that I showed you. But we still have fifteen players to go before getting to the top-50, so I’m not going to waste anymore time as I hope that you become more and more curious about the future as we are getting closer to Numero Uno :

Nevertheless David only plays tournaments around Vegas. David appeared as a high stakes cash game specialist on the most famous pokershow High Stakes Poker and on a few occasions at Poker After Dark. His other passion besides Poker is to play golf, like many other pro’s such as Daniel Negreanu and Doyle Brunson.

Carlos is wildly considered as the last real poker pro who have won the Main Event and upon now still the only Hispanic one. Mortensen is well-known for his loose play, bluffing tactics and for his original style to stack his chips.

Hi Pokerplanet,

First I just want to inform you that I’m extremely steaming at the moment, getting some pretty ugly beats in a row because of some horrible calls by donkaments who then finally river their gutshot straightdraw or second pair. They really don’t have any clue about outs & odds and are just hoping to get their 8% of luck. Well nowadays I can clearly feel those bad beats against me while I’m running very bad last month on Pokerstars with a loss of around the half of my bankroll from before the summer. Anyway I’m still up enough since the start of my online career and I’m still doing great in live poker.

Now for gaining some morale and pleasure again in poker, I’m going to concentrate me on my Most Famous top-100 list and show you the next five players. You see at the title that between them are two of the last three runner-ups of the World Series of Poker Main Event. Ivan was one of the ‘November Nine’, the first time that the final table of the Main Event was postponed for a few weeks. He became that same year 3th on the WSOP Main Event of Europe, which was an exceptional achievement and the first player ever to accomplish that. He’s the absolute number one on the Russian all time tournament winnings list after those results. Ivan is a very cool, silent and sober player at the table and he likes watersports and skiing. He holds a maths degree from the university and he got his insights in poker by playing Starcraft first, like a lot of other pokerplayers.

Funny detail is that he worked before as a Pizza delivery boy.

I’m here to present you the next five Players, starting with number 75 and ending with number 71. They are very different again this time with an old skool rock, an online gun and some agressive, trashtalking players. While I’m a little bit tilting again online because of some bad luck during cash games, I’ll present them quick in order to play my A-game again on the multi-table tournaments of PokerStars, which are still the best suited for my play. Besides his lowball and gamble skills, he is also very well-known for his lawsuit against the American inland revenue where he had proved that playing Poker was his living and work so that the poker professionals did need to pay less income taxes than before his lawsuit.

Annette is a very big online Poker phenomenon and probably one the best online female players nowadays. She started to play online poker at the age of 15, hence her screen name. She made her starting bankroll by playing freerolls on different sites, but have never deposit any money on an online poker site. Annette won already several big online multi-table tournaments with which she proved her huge skills. She also claims that she won an online 180 players-4$ Sit&Go without looking at her cards, only when faced an all-in, by which she proved the importance of positioning and player image. She is also the youngest person ever to win a Bracelet on the last day of her 18th year during the WSOP event in Europe. She can not play in the big WSOP yet because of the minimum age limit of 21 in the state of Nevada.

Victor began to play poker in 2002 when he saw the game in a bar and immediately fell in love with it. He was being mentored at the beginning by the great Phil Ivey. He always plays with no fear and can be very agressive, even in the big cash games like High Stakes Poker where he appeared. He donates a fourth of his earnings to charity. Victor also owns several stores and likes to invest in real estate.

It’s time for another episode of my famous list. First I just want to say that I’m halfly recovered of my dreadful July pokermonth where I lost a lot online but I’m playing very good last weeks, especially in tournaments where I cashed several times and made a few final tables, even won one. So I think I’ll stay at PokerStars for now and defend my league standings. My live game was also very nice in August with a very positive result on my bankaccount;). Marco learned the game by his wife Jen. They met each other in 1999 in the parking garage of The Bellagio with their cars standing side by side, when he was travelling through the States during a vacation. Marco is also a professional hairdresser and was a former captain of an oil ship and a real estate agent.

Freddy appeared in the first season of High Stakes Poker where he was accused of Going South (= taking chips of the table while still playing).

Berry made also two other final tables on the Main Event (1982-1990) and he cashed already 10 times there which’s a record. Until now he made 57 cashes in the World Series of Poker which ranks him 4th on the all time list. Berry was in 2004 introduced to the Poker Hall of Fame.

Welcome to the second episode of my first pokerlist: the Most Famous Poker Player top-100. Today I’ll present you the next five players, meaning numbers 95 to 91 with among them the first former WSOP Main Event winner of the list, like I’ve said before. I hope you already have an idea about who it could be because I’m going to reveal him today, namely on number 91. But logically I’ll start where we stopped, starting with number 95.

Mimi is probably the most famous because of her former relationship with poker Pro Barry Greenstein. She made a deal with him that when he would learn her to play poker, than she would teach him how to speak Vietnamese. Mimi is well known as a great high stakes cash game player which she proved on the first season of High Stakes Poker.

With his Bracelet win in 2007 became Alex the first Russian ever to win a Bracelet. It was a good year for him because he also almost won the Main Event then, finishing 4th. Jerry Yang was the ultimate winner, more about him in a moment;) .

Jerry holds a master’s degree in health psychology and started to play poker in 2005. He qualified for the 2007 Main Event through a satellite, just like Chris Moneymaker did when he won in 2003. He came as 8th on the final table but he knocked out 7 of the 8 other players before winning heads-up against Tuan Lam when he made a straight on the river with his pair of eights against Tuan’s Ace-Queen ( top pair, top kicker). Jerry had always a picture of his six children at the table, which confirms his image of a true family man, who’s very religious and humble. He proved that once more by donating 10% (825.000$) of his Main Event prize money to several charities.

Hi Pokerfriends !

I’m very glad to present you my first pokerlist, namely the Most Famous Poker Players (MFPP) top-100 !!! It’s finally finished so from now on you can follow it pending the next posts in which I’ll always give you five names, starting with number 100.  I’ve selected him on my own so it’s pretty subjective but you can always make a comment if you don’t agree. So here are the first five, numbers 100 to 96, I hope you recognize them .

(100) =>  BOB STUPAK

Robert E. “Bob” Stupak is considered as an entrepeneur and a former casino owner. He’s mostly recognized by his typical manner of talking and handling, namely very slow and weird due to a motorcrash accident in 1995, where he went in a coma and broke every bone in his face. He even became a politician in 2006 as a Democrat. But he’s probably become the most famous when he appeared in episode eight and nine of the first season of High Stakes Poker. He sat down on a table among others like Daniel Negreanu , Johnny Chan, Sam Farha and Todd Brunson. He didn’t play a single hand and while the others were making comments about his extremely tight play, he picked up AA, raised and got called by Daniel’s pocket sevens. After the flop came Q-10-8, he immediatly went all-in with a ridiculous oversized bet and got the pot. Finally that was also his only hand that he played.

Liz have been introduced and encouraged to the no limit hold’em tournaments by John Phan because she only played limit cash games first and she became very successful with it. She also appeared on the PartyPoker.com Premier League II along others like Phil Hellmuth, Tony G and The Devilfish.

You can recognize him most of the time by his sporting outfits and hats, especially of the Yankees. He  has a university degree in Business Management. J.C. also won the PartyPoker.com Premier League III at the end of last year when he beat Tony G in heads-up play.

(97) => JUHA  HELPPI

> born 04/03/1977 in Helsinki ( FIN) and still lives there.

Juha began his poker career as a poker dealer. He also won the first under water tournament organised by InterPoker in 2005 where he beat Phil Laak and Kenna James to win the Caribbean Poker Classic Extreme Poker bracelet. Juha is also known as a very good paintball player and he was even the captain of the national squad of Finland.

(96) => DAVID  SKLANSKY

> born in 1947 in Teaneck, New Jersey (USA) and he now lives in Henderson, Nevada.

> won 3 bracelets (1982 Draw High- 1982 Mixed doubles- 1983 Limit Omaha)

> is a top author on gambling theory and poker with more than 13 books, all published by Two Plus Two Publishing.

With several degrees on his back, David is widely considered as one of the founders of the Theoretical Poker school where the calculations and theory of probability are very important. Players like Chris Ferguson, Andy Bloch and Brandon Adams are very close and familiar with that manner of playing poker. David brought in 1976 the first book out connected with poker, namely Hold’em Poker.

So people, we took off with those five interesting players, see you next time for the next five, the numbers 95-91. It won’t be too long to find out but for the one who are too curious,  I give this tip: next time you’ll see the first WSOP Main Event winner aka one of the former World Champions of Poker! You can think and guess already who it’s going to be
